Support cheatah
Cheatah is free and always will be. The compiler, the runtime, the standard library and the documentation are MIT-licensed — use them commercially, fork them, ship them, no strings. But keeping the language moving is real work: hosting this site and the docs, fixing bugs, writing new stdlib modules, and cutting releases all cost BigBrain LLC time and money. If cheatah saves you some of yours, you can donate an amount of your choosing to BigBrain LLC — the company that builds and maintains cheatah.
Donate — choose an amount, secure Stripe checkout →
At checkout you can leave the developers an optional note (up to 255 characters) — tell us who you are and what you build with cheatah. We read every one.
What we intend to fund — at BigBrain LLC’s sole discretion
- Hosting for bigbrain-technology.com and the cheatah documentation.
- Maintenance: bug fixes, security work on the stdlib’s networking and crypto, and keeping the QA gates green on every release.
- New work: stdlib modules, compiler performance, and the extension packages (gpu, gpu-linalg, plot, space).
Donation terms
These are the written terms every donation is made under — plain words, agreed before you pay, so there is never a dispute afterward about what was given:
- Your donation is a gift to BigBrain LLC, a for-profit company — not to a charity, a foundation, or an earmarked fund.
- It is irrevocable, unconditional, and non-refundable. Once transferred, you waive all control over how the funds are used.
- No goods or services are provided in exchange. Cheatah is already free under the MIT license for everyone, donor or not — a donation buys nothing: no license, no support entitlement, no influence over the roadmap.
- Donations support BigBrain LLC in general, and by doing so they support the continued development and implementation of cheatah. BigBrain LLC retains sole discretion over how the money is spent internally — paying the people who work on cheatah, covering business expenses related to cheatah, or any other BigBrain LLC expense, including ones that may appear unrelated to cheatah from the outside. We will, in good conscience, use donations to support the open-source cheatah project as, when, and if possible — that is our intent, not a contractual obligation.
- Donations are ordinary, taxable business income to BigBrain LLC and are not tax-deductible for you.
- Payment runs through Stripe; we never see your card details. Minimum $1, no subscription. Unlike our product subscriptions, donations are excluded from the 14-day refund policy.
- Any note you leave at checkout is voluntary, is stored with the payment record in Stripe and in our own records, and is read by the developers. Leave nothing if you prefer.
