One sample along a traced field line: where it is, and how strong the field is there.
Position and magnitude together, rather than IRBEM's two parallel arrays (posit(3,N) and Blocal(N)), because every consumer of a path — a plot, a bounce-period quadrature, a loss-cone test — reads both at the same index. Interleaving halves the number of cache lines that walk touches, which for a bandwidth-bound routine is the whole game.
